It’s another update on my startup to earn adsense earnings. Mission accomplished yesterday although I did make a minor adjustment in my plan and that was to do some keyword research on the niche I was working on. At first, I was wasn’t going to do extensive keyword research on the sites that I am not involved in doing my 100 posts on. These were just maintenance posts — once a week. Kind of like what I am doing here. The title of this posts and all the ones I’ve done so far here, I’m just going down the list of adsense keywords and targeting my posts accordingly. I’m not expecting any search engine traffic to these posts for two reasons. It’s a competitive niche and I’m not doing any backlinking. I think I have gotten two search visitors since I started these posts. However, I’ve had over 1300 page views the last I checked thanks to Griz’s link and a few others. I know as soon as those links move down, traffic will drop off. I’ve learned from Griz and my own experience that traffic that doesn’t come from search engines doesn’t convert for adsense. Earn money with searchers.
As I was calculated my overall posting schedule, I figured out that if I post once a week on my other six sites, when I start the 100 posts challenge for the next site, I won’t have to do 100. I’ll have less than 100 to do. In instead of this project taking two years, it will take more like a year and a half. So, I am thinking why waste that time posting posts that won’t give me any search traffic. It will be worth spending the time to do a little keyword research first, before I go put in the effort to do 25-40 and get nothing in return.
Otherwise, I got an additional post on my financial site and got my 4 backlinks and am making progress there. Now, I’ve got 15 posts and only 85 more to go. What I really like about this plan is that I can see a beginning and an end to the work. Defining the work and having a roadmap to your destination is a huge mental hurdle to get out of the way. The other thing I fight with is trying be a perfectionist.
Coming up with original content is not really a problem. But coming up with content that I can be proud of that will help people is something I am shooting for too. I want the content to be link worthy to get spontaneous links from others. That will help my linkbuilding.
Time to get down my plan for Wednesday. Here goes:
- Make a post on my financial site
- Get four backlinks
- Do keyword research on my law site
- If I have time, work on additional backlinks to my financial site
- Check my google adsense earnings
- Check my stats
I did notice that my searches dried up for a few days but it could have been from the holiday. It’s odd to get several visitors and then none from the search engines. But, what I have been taught is to continue to build links. Which is what I am doing. I did make earn money with adsense earning yesterday and already have today too and am over $12 for the month so far. It seems meager, but when I started at zero, where everybody starts, I think it’s good to see it built from the ground up.
OK. Go get busy!
UPDATE: I did complete my post on my financial site and backlinked it with 4 backlinks so it was another good day. I also built some links for some of the searches I found in statcounter. In addition, I started the keyword research for my law site for future posting. Remember, slow and steady progress means big future gains.
UPDATE 2: I should also mention that I have been building some blog roll exchanges with related sites for this and my other blogs. I am working on a way to keep track of these link trading partners. When in doubt about what to do, either write content or get back links.

Michael: Are each of your supersites on a different hosting account?
@Josh
At this time. No. I’ve watched the video indicating we should have separate accounts. Since I wouldn’t say the accounts are “super” yet, I am not at that stage.
