Hey guys. As I’ve explained in the past, I check my adsense income way too much. So first today, I wanted to issue an apology to the rest of you — like me — who had problems getting into your adsense account last night. I guess that I checked it one too many times and I broke down the server. Which reminds me, don’t you hate it when they do routine maintenance? Some times that last about 5 hours. That’s an eternity in adsense minutes. I see nothing wrong with checking Google adsense income on a regular basis IF you actually get some work done in the meantime too. This month I am going to set a new record. I’ll probably break $50 a month. But, yesterday I only made $1.31. That’s a far cry from the $18 plus I made the day before.
It just goes to show you that you are going to have ups and downs. If you really want to increase your adsense income, you’ve got to keep adding pages to your sites. Every new page you add is a potential winner. You just don’t know when or which one it will be. That’s why you write a bunch.
Back to my experiment. As you know, I have picked a keyword for my financial site that I am supposed to be able to rank number one with and have set out to figure out how long it will take to get there. To do that, here’s what I’ve been doing to reach that goal.
- I first did my keyword research according to the Keyword Academy methods. I found me a green keyword with about $650 per month of potential
- I then made a post for that keyword so that I would have a page to rank in the search engines
- I am now looking for backlinks. At this point, I am using Ezinearticles.com and the TKA article directories. My Ezinearticles account is on hold at this point because I have maxed out my submissions. This is probably the second best reason to join the Keyword Academy. A place to get backlinks. The first are the core videos that explain what to do.
- As an additional step, I installed two plugins on my site a while back and configured them. The Yet Another Related Posts Plug In and the Automatic Links for seo plugin. I spent a little time making sure those were set up right.
- I researched all of the related keywords to the keyword I want to rank number one that support the overall keyword and I’ve started writing posts for those keywords as well.
- I am getting backlnks for those supporting posts.
I figure that by attacking the related keywords (longer tails) I can more easily rank those number one or so the theory goes and knock those off as well. I figure if I take my time and get enough backlinks, I’ll see my average adsense income continue to go up.
