Alright everybody, I see that I’ve stirred some activity which is great. Today is the day before we try and make money with adsense in a big way, so I wanted to put together some notes on what I’ve done to prepare. These posts might be short, I’m not sure. A little roadblock to start out with and that is that my site went down last night (I’m with Godaddy who has always been excellent) and then I lost my search traffic. Haven’t had a visitor from Google since. So, looks like, we’ll have to overcome that! Anyway, yesterday, I took some time to these things:
- Do my keyword research. If you are not onboard at the Keyword Academy, you can join the keyword academy here. I am not going to go over keyword research strategies. I would be just saying what they are teaching and that’s not fair to them. I need about 100 green keywords.
- Research potential affiliate programs for additional revenue, I’ve found several. Part of my strategy is to plug some of them.
- Think about what my visitors would want me to talk about and try and add value to the visitor experience and make all of the posts that I do cohesive in some way besides being related keywords.
There’s no doubt that choosing the right keywords is key and the backlinking is the gas that makes it all work. I’ve already written four posts today so I’ve gotten a head start because I have no visitors! If I don’t have any visitors, I have got to get busy so I can make money with adsense.

I’m wondering about your adsense blocks. I thought you could only have 3 but I’m seeing 5? Is that a trick or my imagination?

The additional ad units you see are link units. You are allowed 3 ad blocks and 3 link units which is something a lot of people aren’t aware of.
Oh thanks. I thought it was just 3 ads and 2 search boxes, must have skimmed past that part. I’ve been known to do that.
