Those of you that have been following along (if you are still with me), know that I started the adsense startup to create seven supersites with targeted content to earn me money from adsense. You can find that here: The Adsense Startup. Now that I have that plan underway, the next project I wanted to get underway is my Clickbank Startup.
I’ve been fascinated by Clickbank every since I first started my goal to make money online. It’s probably a lot of people’s first experience with the topic. They quickly find out that you get bombarded with a clickbank offer every week, or in many cases every few days. What really gets me going about it is the fact that I bought several of these products so I know without a doubt that people will indeed buy through this method.
The clickbank marketplace is huge now, but the big beef with the whole program is that a lot of the stuff on there is crap and not worth the money. But, I’ve been to my local borders and still see a lot of crap there that they sell every day. It doesn’t seem much different to me.
Most of us know that their are two ways to make money on clickbank. They are:
- Sell your own product
- Sell other people’s products
Personally, I’m wiling to bet that you would probably do better selling your own product. Many, many people sell other people’s product and make good money getting commissions. They do this by signing up as a clickbank affiliate and then promoting that product through adwords or other marketing efforts like article marketing, etc.
So anyway, I guess what I am getting at is this. A lot of people are focusing there time promoting products through Amazon’s affiliate program. I am a member of that too. I’ve done a little marketing there. I can’t say whether that works or not. The downside to Amazon is the low commission you pay to get them a customer. If you think about it you have to do a lot of promotion to get four percent or whatever it is. Clickbank affiliates get paid a lot higher commission.
The key then is finding the products to promote. They have a Clickbank marketplace you can sort through or there is CBTrends as a resource too. One other helpful site I found is Clickbank: The Complete Guide.
I am first going to spend some time looking through that information and then also brainstorming what types of clickbank products I could provide on my own. I’ve already got a website up and running for this project as well. That site is where I am going to promote a lot of my clickbank offers.
In the meantime, I will be continuing my adsense startup as my primary means to make money.
